Introducing Sababa Restaurant, a falafel-focused spot that feels instantly welcoming the moment you step onto Clifftown Road. Located at 21 Clifftown Rd, Southend-on-Sea SS1 1AB, United Kingdom, this casual restaurant is the kind of place you tell friends about when they ask where to grab something fresh, filling, and full of flavor. Sababa leans confidently into its Middle Eastern-inspired falafel identity, serving crisp, golden falafel that works just as well wrapped for a quick bite as it does plated for a relaxed dine-in meal. The vibe is easygoing and unfussy, making it ideal whether you’re popping in solo, meeting friends, or grabbing food to go after a day by the seafront. Outdoor seating adds a laid-back, street-side feel, while takeaway options keep things moving for anyone short on time. What really stands out is how the menu balances indulgence with feel-good choices, offering plenty of healthy options alongside satisfying comfort food. Vegan and vegetarian diners are especially well catered for, with fresh salads, a colorful salad bar, and plant-based dishes that don’t feel like an afterthought. At the same time, Sababa doesn’t shy away from a proper drink menu, so you can pair your meal with coffee, beer, wine, or even cocktails and spirits if the mood strikes. Free water refills are a small but thoughtful touch that adds to the relaxed hospitality. As someone introducing this place, I’d say Sababa shines because it knows exactly what it wants to be: a friendly falafel restaurant that delivers quick, tasty food without sacrificing quality or atmosphere, all while fitting seamlessly into the everyday rhythm of Southend-on-Sea. It appeals to locals and visitors alike, especially those who appreciate straightforward food done right, clear flavors, and a space that feels unpretentious yet thoughtfully put together, making Sababa an easy choice for repeat visits, casual lunches, and relaxed evenings that revolve around good falafel and good company.

Amazing amazing amazing. Every bite felt thoughtful and made with care. The food was absolutely incredible down to the homemade sauce for the best frickles I’ve ever had, to the fluffy, warm pitta and the creamiest, most delicious hummus. You can really taste the quality and attention to detail in every dish. The flavours were perfectly balanced, comforting, and memorable. This is the kind of place you keep thinking about long after you’ve left. I’ll definitely be back and recommending it to everyone I know.

We ended our day with a truly lovely visit. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service couldn’t have been better—friendly, attentive, and well-paced. The space was spotless and welcoming, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. Special thanks to Sam, whose patience and helpfulness really stood out. Would gladly return and recommend!
Tell us what you ordered and what it cost. Two or three sentences about one dish is more useful to the next person than a star rating.
